A Sacred Reflection - Black Mountain

  • St. James Episcopal Church 424 West State Street Black Mountain, NC, 28711 United States (map)

A Sacred Reflection features performances by Asheville local concert pianist, Alex Watson.  This concert features works by American sacred arrangers, classical pieces by Claude Debussy and Sergei Rachmaninoff, and jazz and ragtime from Oscar Peterson and Scott Joplin.  All are welcome, suggested $10 donation, no need for advance tickets, and free parking.

Donations help benefit Kevi Bears Kids, a local nonprofit founded by Kevin and Betty Lee.  The Lee's are the independent restaurant owners of Happy Jack's Biscuit and Gravy located behind Burger King and Innsbrook Mall on Tunnel Rd.  Kevi Bears Kids supplies hungry kids with soccer balls in South America and Africa.  Come support our cause Wednesday through Monday 7am to 3pm by joining us for breakfast and lunch at Happy Jack's!

"Watson is part church pianist, part classical pianist, and part jazz pianist, but that description really doesn't go far enough: he is above all an interpreter of the highest caliber..." (William Bares, Ph.D., Pianist, Scholar, Associate Professor at UNCA)

AVAILABLE AT THE CONCERT: Alex Watson will be releasing A Sacred Reflection, his second piano album recorded at Seclusion Hill Music by sound engineer Phil Ludwig.  The album exposes virtuoso and colorful expressions of southern gospel hymns arranged for solo concert piano.
