Buncombe County Veterans Treatment Court (VTC)
Buncombe County VTC is is a voluntary, court supervised, intensive treatment court for U.S. Military Veterans charged with nonviolent offenses who are struggling with addiction, mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders (PTSD/TBI).
June 9, 2018 Alex Watson performed a solo piano benefit concert at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Asheville.
Kevi Bears Kids
Asheville's independent restaurant owners Kevin and Betty Lee of Happy Jack's are the founders of Kevi Bears Kids, a nonprofit organization that donates soccer balls and dolls to children in need around the world.
In Black Mountain June 23, 2018, Watson performed, A Sacred Reflection, a solo piano concert featuring sacred works by American composers. Mr. Watson's solo piano album, A Sacred Reflection, was released to compliment the program.
Much appreciation and gratitude to Penny Rose, the Music Director and organist at St. James Episcopal Church for hosting the benefit concert. Ms. Rose was happy to say "the church was very happy to support Kevi Bears Kids...soccer balls are calling!"
Kevi Bears Kids has reached nearly 10,000 kids in countries such as Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Sudan.
Alex Watson performed a solo piano concert at Unity of The Blue Ridge on July 13, 2018 benefitting Corpoint Veteran’s Career Coaching Services. This nonprofit organization provides military veterans with access to educational opportunities and career coaching. Founder, Richard Starkweather, is excited to announce volunteer opportunities and openings for veterans in the Western North Carolina area interested in receiving career coaching services for free!

The Asheville Buncombe County Christian Ministry (ABCCM) oversees the Veteran’s Restoration Quarters by providing volunteer opportunities for community members and support services for military veterans. Alex Watson performed a benefit concert that raised funds for the Veteran’s Restoration Quarters. The VRQ provides transitional housing and case management for veterans.
